What is Trivia Night?
Trivia Night is an informal, fun competition where teams battle to see who has the greatest knowledge of trivia. It is a great opportunity for our GSCS community to come together.
I know very little about trivia. Is this for me?
Individuals are never asked to give answers alone. Answers are discussed at your team table before the answer is written down. You might be surprised what knowledge you have hidden inside. Remember: Brainiacs Welcome. Idiots, More So!
When and where is the event?
WHEN: Saturday, March 24, 2018 -- Doors open @ 6:00 p.m., Trivia starts promptly @ 7:00 p.m
WHERE: Good Shepherd Family Center, 5900 Oleander Drive, Orlando, FL 32807
Can I bring my children?
This is an adults-only event and those under the age of 21 are not allowed. HOWEVER, this year we will have babysitting available for a small fee. See the registration fee for details.
How much does it cost?
$200* per team table (maximum of 10 people per table); $25* per person for individual tickets (individual or couples will be grouped into tables the night of the event).
*After March 9, 2018, IF space is still available, tables will be $250 and individual players will be $30 pp.
How many people can we have on a team?
A minimum of 8 (eight) and a maximum of ten (10) players are allowed per team table, so you can have 8, 9, or 10 players per team.
Do I need a reservation?
YES. Reserve your team table with full payment of $200* and your registration form. We will not hold a table unless full payment is included with the registration form. You can also enter as individuals for $25* per person but ALL registrations must be received by March 1st to receive this price. Reservations received after March 1st will be $250/Table and $30/Person. You can pay by cash, check or credit card. Print, complete, and turn in (or mail) to the school office.
When do I pay?
Pay for your team table at the time of registration. Don't delay - we expect a sell-out!

What if I don't have enough people for a team of 8-10?
Encourage your family, friends, neighbors or colleagues to come along! If you are still unable to make up a team table of 8-10 people, you may purchase individual tickets for $25* per person. Individual players will be grouped into teams the night of the event.
What is included in the cost?
Registration, beer and snack mix while supplies last. (Yes, we card!) We want you to have fun, but please be responsible! Your friends and loved ones want you home safe and sound. Including us!
Can we bring our own beverages and snacks?
Yes, nearly everyone brings their own goodies for a great "PAR-TAY!" That includes alcoholic beverages. Feel free to theme your team table décor and your snacks! Please remember to assign a designated driver if you intend to partake of alcoholic beverages. We want you to get home safe and sound.
Can you tell me exactly how the Trivia Competition works?
Teams are at tables with answer sheets. The emcee will read the question, up to two times per question. Teams will have a short time to write down their answer. At this point you would hear a lot of whispering throughout the room and often times a lot of laughter. Once all 10 questions per round have been asked, we will have runners in the room to pick up your answer sheet and deliver it to the scoring table. After all the score sheets have been collected, the emcee will then provide everyone with the correct answer. There will be no waiting to see if you answered correctly!! After we have completed all the questions, the winning team will be revealed.
What if our team needs help with a question?
This is your lucky day! Trivia Night 2017 will have “mulligans” or freebies for sale the night of the event. When you check-in on the night of the event, each team will have the option to purchase up to five (5) mulligans for $5* per mulligan. When you get a stumper of a question, you can use a mulligan in place of a written answer and earn one free point!
How many questions will there be?
There will be 7-10 rounds of 10 questions each.
What are the categories?
That will be a surprise!!
How will team answers be scored?
Every correct answer yields one point. The team with the highest score wins. Tie-breaking questions will be offered in the event of a tie.
What do we receive if our team wins?
The winning team at trivia will be awarded the Trivia Night trophy, which will be display proudly with your team’s picture at GSCS for all to see. There is no second prize for Trivia Night; the winning team will reign victorious.
Will there be other activities?
Oh heavens, YES!! There will be games at the intermissions offered between certain rounds. You can also bid on exciting items available at the Trivia Night Auction, a silent auction. Be sure to bring a few extra bucks (or your credit cards) to play and or bid!
What should I wear?
Teams are encouraged to dress based on the theme of their team name. For those that are shy about taking on a themed look, jeans and other casual attire are appropriate. Remember, details are everything, so be sure to dress your table to get that “Finished Look” your team will need to compete for prizes in our other contests.
How much of the fee is considered a tax-deductible donation?
The entry fee is not a tax-deductible event because it covers the cost of your participation. However, if you would like to make a donation, become a sponsor or challenge a question (see Trivia Night Rules), we can most definitely provide a tax-deductible letter.
Who gets the proceeds?
ALL proceeds will go to the Good Shepherd School Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides, through its fundraising activities, financial stability and education excellence for Good Shepherd Catholic School. Learn more about us at www.goodshepherdcatholicschoolfoundation.org
